Not-For-Profits Are Important

September 12th, 2011

Since June I’ve quickly discovered writing this book would be extremely difficult if not impossible without the support of several not-for-profit organizations in the area. You need access to local libraries, historical societies, museums, and other educational not-for-profit organizations not only for projects like this, but for day-to-day living as well.

While several¬†Google¬†searches and tips from many wonderful people in the community have pointed me in the right direction, it’s the information cataloged and curated by the above types of institutions that are allowing me to add detail, depth, and context to these amazing stories of the unexplained.

Times are tough and money is tight, but please consider donating a couple of spare dollars to educational not-for-profits. A reporter once asked why I think education is so important. My reply was something of this sort. One day I’m going to be old and I won’t be able to take care myself. It will be up to the next generation. I want them to be well educated.

The Wisconsin Historical Society offers a great tool to find out more about local history here. Also, here’s a resource to locate any libraries near you.

Until next time,
J. Nathan Couch
